We’re hiring Crossing Guards!

While the Village of Riverdale accepts applications for this position throughout the course of the year, we have three vacant spots for the 2019-2020 upcoming school year.

All applicants must:

  • have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • be able to effectively and courteously communicate with the general public
  • follow safety and security guidelines to ensure students are able to cross streets safely
  • be dependable and punctual
  • have the ability to withstand inclement weather
  • be available for the school year in the morning and afternoon (approx. 3-4 hours per day)
  • must be able to pass a background and medical screening
  • the salary is $10.50 per hour, paid bi-weekly

Previous experience is not required. Training will be provided.

Get your Village Sticker!

Hey residents, did you purchase your village sticker yet? June 1st, Village stickers increase to $33.00. And starting July 1st, the rate jumps to $66, and the senior rate is $14.00. You must show proof of current registration to purchase your sticker. Your Village Sticker must be displayed by July 1st. They can be purchased at The Village Hall, 157 W. 144th Street.


Village Employee retires after 41 years!

On Friday June 14th 2019, Village administration and members of the Public Works Department celebrated with Mr. Jeff Vorderer as he concluded his last day working for Riverdale. Jeff worked 41 years in the Public Works Department, and The Village wishes Mr. Jeff Vorderer well wishes in his new chapter of retirement.
