If you own a motor vehicle, you must purchase a vehicle sticker/tag. You must bring proof that your vehicle’s plates are currently registered to Riverdale when applying for your sticker. View an example of a vehicle registration here. Current and valid tags must be purchased and displayed no later than July 1st of each year and are valid until June 30th of the following year.
Rates have increased and vary according to the type and class of your vehicle. Vehicle stickers/tags purchased in May qualify for the new early-bird discount rate of $55 for passenger vehicles. In June, vehicle stickers/tags are sold at the new regular rate of $60 for passenger vehicles. Rates double if tags are purchased after June 30th to $120 for passenger vehicles.
If you recently closed on your home, signed your lease, or purchased your vehicle, you have a 30-day grace period in order to purchase your sticker/tag at the regular rate (outside of the month of May).
To qualify for the senior/disability rate proof of vehicle registered to Riverdale must be provided.
You must be 62 or older and if disabled provide your award letter. In order to qualify for the above mentioned 30-day grace period you must provide proof of closing, lease signing, or bill of sale. Persons 62 or older or with disabilities qualify for discounts of $30 in May and June. On July 1st fees double to $60. One discount is allowed per household.
